Bafta nominated Simon has been photographing diverse movies, high end TV drama and commercials around the world. He prides himself on being versatile and passionate to create visuals that are story driven and emotionally motivated.
Raised in Devon, England he was a very keen photographer from a young age. During a course in Fine Arts he discovered his love for film-making and graduated with a first-class Honours degree in Film & TV at Napier Film School in Scotland before winning a Scottish Bafta for his photography on the short film Sex & Death and an RTS award for the short film 'Fake'. He quickly moved into various pop promos before shooting his first feature film THE LAST GREAT WILDERNESS for Oscar winning director David Mackenzie. He photographed a number of diverse movie projects including PUSHER before shooting THE SWEENEY in 2012 which reached number 1 at the UK box office. In 2015 he was nominated for a BAFTA and RTS award for his photography on series 2 of the acclaimed BBC drama PEAKY BLINDERS.
Recent projects include the BAFTA nominated and BIFA winning feature film THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS starring Glenn Close, Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine and THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM written by Jane Goldman (X-Men, Kingsman, Kick Ass etc) starring Bill Nighy, Olivia Cooke, Eddie Marsan & Douglas Booth and series 4 of the hugely successful Emmy winning TV show BLACK SAILS for Starz.
He recently completed filming the TV pilot for KRYPTON created by David S Goyer for SyFi / Warners and THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE for Ryan Murphy / Fox Studios / FX.
